Have you ever lost your internet connection for no apparent reason?
The causes are many and the result is always frustrating. Is it your internet provider or is there something wrong with your own PC? It's annoying when you suddenly find that you are unable to send email or shop online. Some connectivity problems are easy to fix. A modem or router might need to be reset and this can be done by simply switching the power off and then back on again. On the other hand, corruption to the registry or the loss of TCP/IP configuration is not easy to deal with on your own. >>>

Has your PC become "sluggish" and unresponsive?
This is a common problem and the causes are many. When this happens the solution may be a simple one but sometimes it can be a warning sign that all is not well. Even with anti-virus protection, your PC can become infected with malware and when that happens, your anti-virus software can be rendered useless. Malware defeats anti-virus software by design and without your knowledge, your computer could have become a member of one of the hundreds of thousands of "botnets" currently being used for illegitimate purposes. It could be remotely used to send out spam and "phish" for bank account details and as a result, the speed and processing power are compromised. >>>

Connectivity - How do you "join the dots" ?
Maybe your printer is just being obstinate or maybe you have one printer and several PCs and you know that it should be possible to use it from all of them but you find yourself endlessly copying documents from one PC to another in order to print them. Have you a camera that you should be able to plug in to your laptop as well as your desktop but you can't quite make the right connection? Sometimes you know that there must be a better way but you're not quite sure how connect everything together to make it work. I can help you make the most of the kit that you already have. I can help to get all your devices talking to each other for increased creativity and maximum convenience. >>>

Do you sometimes worry about loosing your files?
Backing up your documents, photos and music really isn't difficult and can often be an automatic process providing you have a good "system" for doing so already in place. Unfortunately, so many have had to learn the "hard way". I can show you how to protect your valuable data and how to back up your files or create an automatic process to preserve the whole contents of your hard drive. Unfortunately a Windows installation doesn't last forever. Have you ever wished that you could take a "snapshot" of your PC when it's in the peak of health and then simply return it to that state when you need to? It isn't difficult and I can show you how it is done. >>>

Could a few helpful tutorials make all the difference?
It's a sad fact that even those who have used PCs for years often lack the basic foundations upon which to build efficient methods. Knowing the basics - how to "drag and drop", copy files and deal with multiple windows and applications is essential. Many have benefited enormously from just a few hours of one-on-one training. If you are a beginner, four one-hour tutorials will be enough to make you feel like an expert and if you take advantage of the special introductory offer, you'll only be paying for three. >>>

Do you need to upgrade or reinstall?
The PC Guy can help with any upgrades. Installing new equipment isn't always as easy as one is led to believe. Do you have a new laptop which you want to be able to use in the house or in the garden when the weather is nice? Maybe you have an existing internet connection which needs to be made "wireless". You'll need a new router and more importantly, it will need to be configured properly so that your connection is not "open", allowing everybody in the neighbourhood to use your bandwidth or see your files. >>>

Have you ever deleted something and then wished you could get it back?
Using the right tools, It is very often possible to retrieve documents that have been "deleted" because when files are thrown away, they are not really deleted in the first place. Your hard drive has an index of the files that are on it and what is actually deleted is the record of where the file is stored. In order for a file to be really and truly deleted, it would have to be written over and by design, Windows does not do this. It is sometimes possible to retrieve files a long time after they have been "deleted" (as criminals have often discovered to their detriment!). >>> |
