You've never had it so good! |
As a new client, I can make an on-site diagnosis and give you a good idea of how much work may be involved and how much it may cost you. Better than that - if you decide to go straight ahead with the work I will scrub the £20 fee and start the meter again.
What could be fairer than that?

Making a Wireless World |
A Major Disadvantage
Many people have wireless laptops and notebook computers now and many other devices are also using wireless technology. However, for all the convenience that a wireless system offers, a wired system did have one natural advantage. A wired system was always "closed" to the outside world. Now that more and more networks are becoming wireless, it's important to consider the security implications. A wireless network should be properly secured so that your neighbours can't connect to it. You wouldn't want them to be able to see your files after all and if they were to share your internet bandwidth, your own surfing could slow down.
Another Major Disadvantage. .
Something that many people do not seem to realise is that a wireless connection is nowhere near as fast as a wired one. An Ethernet cable from your laptop to the back of your router will usually be faster than using your router's wireless capabilities. If your router can handle wired high speed then it could be up to eighteen times slower to use wireless. If you are going to be situated near the router when you use your laptop anyway, probably using mains power, then will one more cable make a difference?
The Advantages .
When it is properly configured, a wireless system offers obvious advantages. Laptops, for example, can be used anywhere in the house or garden to connect to the Internet to browse, stream video and handle email. It's also possible to connect a laptop wirelessly to storage devices attached to other PCs or located anywhere else on the network. It's even possible for two laptops to connect to each other and share resources however, it must be said that this is a situation hardly ever encountered in a home network and not only are most unaware that it is a real possibility but many don't even know that this is an option.
